Motta Camastra, a charming medieval village surrounded by Sicilian nature, is preparing to celebrate the 20th edition of its renowned’Festa della Noce’. From 28 September to 6 October, this unmissable event will transform the town into a lively stage of flavours traditions and entertainment, attracting visitors from all corners of Sicily and beyond.

Promoted by the Municipality of Motta Camastra with the support of the Sicilian Region, this festival is a tribute to the walnut, one of the region’s most precious agricultural products. The event actively involves local producers, artisans, traders and farms, offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the region’s food and wine excellence and to appreciate the work of those dedicated to preserving its traditions.

A programme full of events

During the two weekends of the festival, the picturesque streets of the historical centre of Motta Camastra will come to life with travelling shows, parades, tastings of typical walnut products and enthralling musical performances.

  • 28 and 29 September: The ‘Attanasio Faustica’ municipal band corps, the Alkantara folk group, and the flag-wavers and imperial drums of the city of Randazzo will enliven the public with their performances, while on Sunday 29 September, at 20.00, Piazza Croce will host a concert by singer Angela Di Mauro and her Angels cover band, accompanied by choreography by the Elianto Country School.

  • 5 and 6 October: The festival will continue with the’Motta Camastra Street band’ and the Asd Majorette città di Randazzo. On Sunday 6 October, at 20.00, Piazza Croce will be the stage for a concert by the folk group I Beddi.

The walnut: a fruit with a thousand virtues
